Steven Darien

A strong leader and manager, Steven Darien has more than three decades of experience in human resources, business, and consulting. Since 1996, Mr. Darien has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Cabot Advisory Group, where he is also a Principal. In his current role, Steven Darien consults with a range of companies, assisting them with strategic HR management. His areas of expertise include strategic planning, organizational design, forming relationships with board members, HR technology, and employee communications.

Before assuming his current position with the Cabot Advisory Group, Steven Darien worked in a number of roles with Merck & Co., Inc. During his tenure there, Mr. Darien helped the company achieve considerable recognition in the business world, including earning the title of America's Most Admired Company seven years in a row in Fortune magazine. At Merck, Mr. Darien served as head of Human Resources, Director of Management Consulting Services, and the leader of Merck's contribution to the Grace Commission, a federal task force established by President Reagan to improve governmental efficiency.

Steven Darien has been extensively featured in the business media, including a Management Troubleshooters cover story with Dun's Review. He also has been profiled in a Harvard Business School case study. Mr. Darien serves on the Human Resources Advisory Board of the American Management Association and as a member of the Business Roundtable's Employee Relations Executive Committee. He has lectured widely, offering presentations to students at Harvard Business School, Columbia University Business School, and the business school of the University of California in Los Angeles.

Steven Darien attended Rutgers College, where he graduated with honors, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He also studied at Columbia University, where he completed his Master of Business Administration.
