William Joseph Scaggs
William Joseph Scaggs is a real estate investor and partner with SRD Building Corp., located in Boca Raton, Florida. In addition to managing the company’s finances, Mr. Scaggs is also responsible for inspecting properties for compliance to building specifications. SRD Building Corp. is known for creating custom, high-end homes worth millions of dollars. William Joe Scaggs has worked in the real estate industry since the 1970s, serving as President and CEO of Scaggs Group for over 20 years. As President and CEO, he assisted in the operation of several nightclubs and restaurants across Florida.
William Joe Scaggs has also worked with Four Seasons Emerald Bay as a partner. In this capacity, he managed multiple real estate transactions and met with luxury property buyers in the Bahamas on a regular basis. Mr. Scaggs and his partners were very successful, selling over $400 million worth of real estate in the Bahamas. In 2007, Prime Minister of the Bahamas Perry Christie recognized Mr. Scaggs’ contributions to the nation’s real estate development by inviting him to the Prime Minister’s Office.
In addition to his business interests, William Joseph Scaggs also contributes to charitable causes as often as possible. He recently led his community in raising over $80,000 for reconstruction efforts in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake. He is an avid supporter of charities that help children as well, including the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation, which works to gather toy donations and funds for children from disadvantaged families during the Christmas season. Mr. Scaggs also supports Smile Train, a non-profit organization that raises money for cleft palate operations on children whose families cannot afford the costly procedure. He contributes to charities benefiting older children as well, including Boca Raton’s Promise, which aims to ensure that children and teens are provided with the support and safe activities that they need to grow into happy, healthy adults.
