Steve Kruse

About Steve Kruse:

Steve Kruse embarked on his career as an entrepreneur by creating Kruse Brothers in 1967, an enterprise that quickly rose to prominence as one of southeast Iowa's most successful hog farms. In 1983, he launched a second company, Kruse Construction, which provided brick work and brick laying services for its clients. Steve Kruse opened his third company, StoneHenge Kennels, three years later. Since that time, StoneHenge Kennels has bred more than 20 champion dogs; in addition, Kruse has put approximately 1 million dollars into the company, helping to make it the successful enterprise it remains today.

Although he left Kruse Construction in 1991 and Kruse Brothers the following year, he continues to own and operate StoneHenge Kennels. StoneHenge Kennels strives to keep all dogs in good health and provides a veterinary examination as soon as a dog arrives at the facility. At StoneHenge Kennels, dogs undergo extensive socialization, giving them the best temperament possible for when they become pets. Kruse breeds English and French bulldogs, wheaten terriers, and Shiba Inus, among others.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Steve Kruse enjoys remaining active in his community and has volunteered for events such as the West Point Sweet Corn Festival. Kruse also directs the operations of Iowa Pet Breeders Association and contributes his resources to the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion (Post 668). Finally, Kruse affiliates with the Republican Party of Iowa's State Central Committee and the Pet Professionals of Southeast Iowa.
