Howard G. Fass
Howard Fass holds leadership roles in several organizations dedicated to finding solutions for some of the most pressing political and health issues of our time. In 1988, Howard Fass enrolled in Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Philosophy in 1992. Drawing on this education, Howard Fass took part in projects in the United States, Taiwan, and Europe. While in Taiwan, Howard Fass studied the Chinese language at the Wenzao Language School. Since March 2010, Howard Fass has served as Vice President for the biotechnological firm Life Spring Immuno Science Corporation, which aims to discover ways to treat and prevent gastric cancer. Howard Fass and his associates believe that the key to reducing the prevalence of this ailment lies in the targeting of the widespread microbe Helicobacter pylori, and the scientists at Life Spring have published a substantial amount of research in their search for a vaccine. In August 2010, Life Spring successfully procured a provisional patent for its gastric cancer work.
Howard Fass also heads The Snow Lion Foundation, an organization that works to draw attention to the human rights issues faced by Uyghur, Taiwanese, and Tibetan peoples, among others. Some of the work performed by The Snow Lion Foundation includes gathering information and news items on specific regions of concern in order to give the public a more complete picture of current issues. Furthermore, Howard Fass has participated in numerous vigils and other nonviolent political actions to call attention to the violations of freedoms that marginalized peoples in East and Central Asia endure.
