David Driscoll

David Driscoll’s lifelong career in Greek and Latin work has led him to an abundance of accomplishments in the professional world. Originally beginning his educational career at Vassar College, Driscoll received his degree in Greek with honors in Classics, and then persevered on to the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill to earn his Masters in Greek and his Ph.D. in Classics. While in college, he flew to Athens, Greece for a summer to work for the American School of Classical Studies as later became an Associate Member. After completing his graduate work, David Driscoll continuted to spend much of his summers and breaks in numerous European countries, doing on-site study of Greek and Roman archaeology, a passionate interest he pursues to this day. After completing his formal education in Greek and Roman literature, Driscoll decided he wanted to stay active and involved within the world of academia. Accordingly, he has spent the last ten years working as a professor and teacher at colleges and institutions along the east coast. He most recenlty worked as a Latin teacher at Greens Farms Academy, a small but prestigious school, located on the picturesque shores of Greens Farms, Connecticut near his home in Norwalk. Prior to this position, he spent nine years at the Masters School in New York, where he served as a Latin and Greek teacher. In addition, he also has served there as head of the department, on the academic committee, as assistant coach to numerous sports, as resident faculty supervisor, and as Secretary and President of the Cum Laude honor society. Driscoll's teaching career in college includes positions at Gustavus Adolphus college in St. Peter, MN and The University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS. David Driscoll is also a distinguished writer, with several published papers nd reviews, and even a textbook on the Latin language. His success is sure to follow him not only through the academic endeavors he may pursue, but also in his emergent career as a thoughtful and original writer on the ancient Greek and Latin languages.
