Taylor Halsted Villanova
When Taylor Halsted was a high school student in Hamilton, Massachusetts, he spent time in the summer of 2007 working for Villanova University as an engineering intern. While aiding research in beam tolerance, he also helped the university build its first green roof. After graduating from Pingree School, Taylor Halsted enrolled at Villanova University to earn his undergraduate degree. Since 2008, Taylor Halsted has performed as an esteemed member of the class of 2012. During his freshman year, he created his own business, Fun Clothing Company, which received coverage in the school’s newspaper. A member of the Villanova Entrepreneurial Society, he also acts as Founder and President of the Owl Coterie, a society devoted to encouraging dialogue about the global economy. As part of Phi Gamma Delta, he serves as Media Chair and Philanthropy Chair of the fraternity while performing on the Greek Awards Committee. In 2010, Taylor Halsted participated in a study-abroad program through his university in which he received education at the National University of Ireland, Galway. Also that year, he completed his business minor by attending the Villanova Summer Business Institute. Currently, Taylor Halsted seeks to earn his Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering with additional Minors in Engineering Entrepreneurship and Philosophy. He also continues to aid underprivileged people around the globe. In one of his most recent endeavors, he led a fundraising campaign to benefit orphaned children in Ghana who are in need of a new school and new home. Another initiative featured him joining the Villanova University chapter of Engineers Without Borders - USA as a Project Manager, helping create a water distribution system for a rural village in Nicaragua. During his spare time, Taylor Halsted engages his interest in business by overseeing his own personal investment portfolio and working towards a Bloomberg certification. He plans to pursue an MBA following completion of his undergraduate studies.
