Stewart Flink

As an undergraduate at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, investments expert Stewart Flink ambitiously pursued a double Major in Economics and Psychology. Throughout his four years at the university, Mr. Flink competed on the varsity tennis team, functioning as captain his senior year. He also served as president of his fraternity his junior year at Vanderbilt. Despite the additional responsibilities, Stewart Flink completed his degree requirements and graduated on time, a rare achievement for a student-athlete. Mr. Flink went on to complete his Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, in 1983.

The founder and Manager of Chicago-area hedge fund Next View Capital LP, Stewart Flink demands high standards of work ethic and achievement from his staff. Before any investment through the firm is made, it must be thoroughly researched and analyzed, and due diligence is key to ensuring that clients’ best interests come first. Mr. Flink refuses to utilize leverage because such a strategy, which often appears brilliant in the short term, exposes clients to unacceptable long-term risk. He also shuns the traditional compensation model embraced by most large financial institutions, wherein account managers are paid a commission or fees regardless of the outcome and performance fees are sometimes based on mysterious and sometimes dubious valuations and calculations. Stewart Flink’s managers receive performance incentives only on actual gains made by each client, as determined by a third-party administrator.

Stewart Flink has garnered considerable success making money for his clients and outperforming the competition. In the short time since he founded Next View Capital, it has earned a cumulative compounded return of 180% through July 2011, and the assets under management have more than tripled.
