Steven Testa
Steven Testa, second-generation owner of Atlas Construction, headed operations of the family business for 36 years. From 1974 to 2010, Steven Testa handled all day-to-day operations of the Columbus, Ohio, road construction company.
Atlas Construction undertakes road building projects in a variety of spheres. The company performs road work for private developers and rehabilitates streets in the Columbus metro area. Atlas also performs from-scratch road construction projects for residential subdivisions. The company was founded by Steven Testa's father in 1946 and is currently operated by third-generation family member Rick Testa.
In his years as President, Steven Testa handled general operations of the business. He played a key role in long-term planning, including a major project geared toward optimization of company operations. On a daily basis, Mr. Testa would oversee all financial management, systems, and controls for company activities.
Prior to assuming control of Atlas Construction, Steve Testa served as a staff sergeant in the United States military. Serving during the Vietnam War, he carried out the duties of an aerospace ground equipment repairman. After his years in the military, Mr. Testa enrolled at Ohio State University, where he joined the Kappa Sigma fraternity. He graduated in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce.
Steven Testa maintains active involvement in many charitable organizations. He donates to and volunteers with Columbus Children's Hospital and works with Special Wish Foundation, which grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. He is also an active member of Zion Christian Fellowship. Mr. Testa has raised three boys and is married to his loving wife of 37 years.
