John Weaner
Working out of the York, Pennsylvania, office of AgChoice Farm Credit, John Weaner managed a $100,000,000 commercial loan portfolio for farms, orchards, nurseries, timber operations, and other agricultural business ventures for properties in York County and Adams County. Mr. Weaner held the title of Vice President and functioned as an executive loan officer for the financial services business at the culmination of his 28 years with the company. Vested with this responsibility, John Weaner was authorized to grant loans of up to $500,000 and was tasked with the marketing and sales of loan products to clients. In the acquisition of clients, Mr. Weaner conducted credit analysis of potential clients, presented loan offers, and reviewed complex legal documents.
In addition to the sales and presentation of loan products, John Weaner functioned as one of the public relations liaisons between AgChoice Farm Credit and residents of York County and Adams County. In this capacity, Mr. Weaner traveled throughout York and Adams County, appeared at various functions, and made presentations to industry groups such as the Pennsylvania Fruit Growers Association.
To best serve the clients in York and Adams County, John Weaner attended various seminars, where he improved his knowledge of farm machinery appraisal, real estate appraisal, sales techniques, and marketing strategies. Always seeking new ways to improve his ability as an executive loan officer, Mr. Weaner attended classes on servicing distressed credit, learned additional methods of credit analysis, and attended commercial loan officer training. The continued professional education complemented his formal education; John Weaner attended the Pennsylvania State University, University Park, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics.
