Didion Milling

Didion Milling is a 40-year-old family business that provides corn products, famine relief products, and a wide variety of food and industrial items. These offerings include Corn Soy Blend (CSB), corn meal, soy-fortified corn meal, and packaged vegetable oil. Wholesome CSB is precooked and includes corn meal and soy flour that have been enhanced with vitamins and minerals. It can be used as a meat extender and to make soups, fried cakes, and beverages. Didion Milling’s nutritious corn meal is an effective source of energy and is easy to prepare; it is used in many foods, such as muffins, cookies, pancakes, bread, and hot cereal. Soy-fortified corn meal, a legume and cereal blend, is often used as a dietary supplement and is a part of many food products. Didion Milling also distributes packaged vegetable oil, fortified with Vitamin A.

Didion Milling and Didion Ethanol specialize in clean, green, and sustainable products, using every part of their corn crops and taking a socially conscious approach to their business operations. With more than 150 green workers, the company feeds the hungry, produces fuel, gives industry low-cost materials, and provides feed for the agricultural industry. The Department of Energy recently awarded a $5.5 million matching grant to Didion Ethanol to convert the mill into a more energy-efficient facility. The mill expects to reduce its energy consumption by 25% within a decade. Didion Milling received the 2010 Norfolk Southern Corp. Thoroughbred Chemical Safety Award and the 2007 Annual SiteCast Tilt-Up and Northeast Region Concrete Design Award.

The company donates to several charitable causes, including Columbia County Deputy Sheriffs, the Wisconsin Bandits softball team, and the Cambridge Hoops Club. Didion Milling also contributes to the Old Mill Foundation, Columbia County Corn Growers, and to the Cambria-Friesland Area Chamber of Commerce.
