Dr Mark Wichman

Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. Mark Wichman practices at Aurora Advanced Healthcare, Inc., in Milwaukee, where he treats patients with an array of injuries and joint conditions, particularly those affecting the shoulders and knees. The orthopedic surgeon also acts as Medical Director of the Sports Medicine Institute at the Aurora Health Center Mayfair and as team physician for the Milwaukee Admirals hockey team, a position he has held since 2003. In addition, Dr. Mark Wichman provides medical services to the athletic teams at Wauwatosa High School.

At the University of Wisconsin - Madison, Dr. Mark Wichman received a Bachelor of Science with a focus in Molecular Biology. After earning his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, he completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and a fellowship in sports medicine at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute.

Sharing his expertise, Dr. Wichman has taught more than 30 courses on advanced arthroscopic techniques for knees and shoulders. Currently, he serves as an Associate Clinical Professor in the College of Health Science at Marquette University and as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Family and Community Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

A member of the American Medical Association and the Wisconsin Medical Society, Dr. Wichman also belongs to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and The Arthroscopy Association of North America. He maintains hospital affiliations with Aurora Sinai Medical Center; Aurora West Allis Memorial Hospital; Aurora Health Center in Waukesha; and Wauwatosa Surgery Center.

Active in the community, Dr. Mark Wichman raises funds for the Milwaukee Jewish Federation and supports Milwaukee Jewish Day School, The Harry and Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center, and the Jewish National Fund. He also serves as President of Operation Dream, which assists boys from Milwaukee’s inner city.
