Robert Schickel

Academically trained in biomedical sciences, Robert Schickel developed his business acumen at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business and The Boston Consulting Group (BCG). BCG, the world's leading advisor on business strategy, assigned Schickel to counsel clients in the health care and pharmaceutical industries. For example, his analysis found $80 million in lost revenue due to errors and inefficiencies at one drug manufacturing and distribution company. Dr. Schickel’s consulting services for another pharmaceutical client identified $500 million in savings in selling, generation, and administrative (SG&A) expenses through horizontal integration following a $15 billion merger.
Robert Schickel earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Chemistry at the University of California, San Diego. He later obtained a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology from the University of Chicago and published articles in professional science and medical journals on the immune system, breast and ovarian cancer, and molecular mechanisms of cell death. While he was at the University of Chicago, the U.S. Department of Defense awarded Robert Schickel a $90,000 fellowship for the purpose of breast cancer research.
Outside of his business and science endeavors, Dr. Schickel enjoys the outdoors, sailing, and cycling. He also relaxes by playing Sudoku and reading.
