Mark D. Ambrose MD
Since 1983, Mark D. Ambrose, MD, has acted as a psychiatric consultant and operated a private practice. A graduate of New York Medical College and a 14-year teaching physician at Bellevue Hospital Center, Dr. Ambrose has accumulated over three decades of psychiatric experience. In his private practice, Mark D. Ambrose, MD, uses that experience to develop relaxed, natural relationships with his patients through conversational introductory interviews and attentive 45-minute regular followup sessions.
Mark D. Ambrose, MD, began his studies in the biology program at Franklin & Marshall College, located in Lancaster, Philadelphia. During his time at the school, he maintained a position on the Dean's List. After graduating in 1971, he studied medicine at the New York Medical College.
After receiving his doctorate, Mark D. Ambrose, MD, started his general psychiatry residency at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, an academic affiliate of the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. When he finished his residency in 1979, Dr. Ambrose immediately began a fellowship at The University Hospital, an affiliate the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center. His duties while completing his fellowship included a supervisory role as Unit Chief of an inpatient treatment team.
Mark D. Ambrose, MD, launched his professional career at Bellevue Hospital Center, part of the New York University Langone Medical Center’s academic network. For 14 years, Dr. Ambrose supervised residents as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry. In addition to his responsibilities in this position, he gave psychiatry residents lectures on a variety of topics and provided supervision on the the residency training unit.
