As a social entrepreneur, Virata Gamany seeks to contribute to his community and charitable causes. He has volunteered with the World Wildlife Fund and The Boy Scouts Association (now known as The Scouts Association), and he supports such charities as SickKids Foundation and a relief fund for survivors of the 2011 tsunami in Japan.

Interested in international affairs, Virata Gamany reads regularly about politics, history, and Nobel Prize winners. Well-traveled, he has visited more than 26 countries, including remote locations in Central Asia. Appreciating outdoor activities and unusual travel locales, Mr. Gamany savors trips to Vietnam, Turkmenistan, and Poland, which offer distinctive experiences. During his excursions, he enjoys communicating with local residents, learning about new cultures, and trying native cuisine. In his free time at home, he practices Muay Thai, salsa dancing, and speaking Japanese.

Mr. Gamany, a financial professional focused on real estate, property management, and investment business, previously led the Investor Relations team for Vision Investment Properties in Vancouver, Canada. He also directed the firm’s expansion as the Managing Director for Asia.

Mr. Gamany attended the School of Law at the University of London, where he majored in law, and the University of Toronto, where his team took second place in the Rotman MBA School of Business International Trading Competition.

Prior to his work for Vision Investment Properties, Virata Gamany advised a Malaysian think tank, the National Economic Advisory Council, on the liberalization of the local telecommunication sector. He also worked in finance and accounting for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as a Corporate and Financial Advisor. During this time, he focused on real estate investment firms, including notable companies, such as Oxford Properties Group and Realstar. Virata Gamany also served a term as Vice President for the board of the Canadian Association of Independent Consultants.
