Thomas Gazda
Psychopharmacologist and Psychoanalyst Dr. Thomas Gazda has enjoyed nearly three decades of practicing medicine. Through his work on a number of clinical trials, Dr. Thomas Gazda has become an expert on affective, anxiety, and psychotic disorders. He also is highly skilled at applying psychodynamic principals in a variety of therapeutic settings, including group therapy, couples therapy, crisis intervention, and short and long term psychotherapy.
Currently, Dr. Thomas Gazda is associated with several medical facilities. He works out of private practices specializing in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and clinical neuroscience research. He serves as a staff psychiatrist for the Banner Desert Medical Center and the Banner Behavioral Health Hospital. Dr. Thomas Gazda also performs clinical trials. Over the course of his career, he has provided consultation to a number of pharmaceutical companies, such as Pfizer, Janssen, and AstraZeneca. Since 2007, he has been instructing psychiatry residents at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.
A dedicated participant in his professional community, Dr. Thomas Gazda is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and has held membership in various professional associations including the Vermont Alliance for Mentally Ill, the Canadian Psychoanalytic Society, the International Psychoanalytic Association, the North Carolina Psychoanalytic Foundation, and the Psychoanalytic Societies at both Duke University and the University of North Carolina. Dr. Gazda currently serves on the Clinical Consensus Committee of the Banner Behavioral System and has been the committee’s chairman for the past three years.
