Natalie Stiglitz

Natalie Stiglitz received her PhD from the University of Louisville in Educational Leadership Organization Development in P-12 Administration. Not only did she graduate from Louisville, she also works there as the Director Office of Civic Education and Engagement and as the Co-Director of the Nystrand Center of Excellence in Education for the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Louisville. Stiglitz has the important responsibility of ensuring that teachers and administrators understand how to teach and assess the social studies curriculum that she helped to design and implement. In addition, she has been able to gather over $1.6 million in grants and is the Principal investor and Co-Principal investor of these funds. Some of her initiatives include the establishing the Kentucky Teacher Network for Excellence in Civic Education and Engagement. Prior to her stint at the University of Louisville, Natalie Stiglitz was a State Social Studies Specialist for the Kentucky Department of Education. Stiglitz assisted in consulting school districts, helping them implement instruction programs. In addition, she was a vocal leader that helped address the needs of the agency and its partners, as well as negotiating on their behalf with professional organizations. Stiglitz began her career as an eighth grade social studies school teacher and was quickly promoted to Assistant Principal at Henry County Middle School. Her ability to master the curriculum and then help others comply with it made her a valuable asset to the school. Furthermore, she helped to refine the curriculum by addressing issues she had gathered from all levels of the school, from teachers to administrators. Natalie Stiglitz earned a PhD in Education Leadership Organization Development from the University of Louisville.
