La Villa Pizzeria Brooklyn NY
Although La Villa Pizzeria offers a wide selection of delectable Italian cuisine, the popular New York eatery is known for its pizza. La Villa offers pizza in a variety of styles, with a wide range of toppings that include both homemade and imported cheeses. Other traditional Italian dishes served at La Villa Pizzeria include polpette di carne; eggplant involtini; and arancini, or fried rice balls, a staple of Neapolitan cuisine.
La Villa Pizzeria’s success dates back to 1955, when a small pizzeria opened on 5th Avenue and Bay Ridge in Brooklyn. Founded by the owner's uncle, Gino Branchinelli of Gino's Italian Ices, the pizzeria quickly became popular. Today, La Villa Pizzeria maintains two Brooklyn locations, in Mill Basin and Park Slope, in addition to its original location in Howard Beach, Queens, which opened in 1982.
Committed to giving back to its community, La Villa Pizzeria hosts an annual charity event in partnership with the New York City Police Department and Ferrari of Long Island. Most recently, La Villa helped to raise funds for the Julien Collot Foundation, a nonprofit that supports bone marrow transplant research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Featuring exotic cars as well as a speech by Dr. Farid Boulad, Medical Director of Memorial Sloan-Kettering's Pediatric Day Hospital, the event culminated at La Villa Pizzeria in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Thanks to the efforts of all involved, the event raised over $70,000 for cancer research.
All of La Villa Pizzeria's New York locations are open daily, Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 10 p.m.
