David W. Stewart, Ph.D.
The author or co-author of 8 books and more than 200 academic articles, Dr. David W. Stewart has made countless contributions to the study of marketing. Dr. David W. Stewart has taught at business schools such as the University of California at Riverside, the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. In addition to his academic work, Dr. David W. Stewart has applied his ideas in the business world as a consultant and advisor on marketing, advertising, management, and broader economic development. He has been a consultant on marketing issues for some of the most prominent companies in the United States, including Coca-Cola, Xerox, AT&T, Hewlett-Packard, and IBM. Dr. David W. Stewart also served as Manager of Research for Needham, Harper, and Steers advertising agency, now known as DDB. In recognition of his academic and business work on marketing and advertising, he received the Award for Outstanding Contribution to Advertising Research from the American Academy of Advertising. Dr. David W. Stewart maintains active participation in numerous economic development councils. He chaired the Strategic Visioning Task Force for the City of Riverside, California, and served on the Board of Directors of the Inland Empire Economic Partnership, an economic development organization for one of the fastest-growing regions of the United States. In addition, Dr. David W. Stewart has been a partner in the Riverside Technology Chief Executive Officer Forum and hosted monthly gatherings of business leaders at the University of California at Riverside’s Palm Desert Graduate Center. He has also been a member of the California Inland Empire District Export Council, the City of Riverside Council of Economic Development Advisors, the Riverside Higher Education Business Council, and the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership.
