Kevin Moran
In nearly 25 years as a secondary teacher, administrator, and leader, Kevin Moran has demonstrated relentless dedication to the field of education. Mr. Moran devoted nearly a decade of service to several different middle and high schools, where he started his career as a classroom educator in 1989. After nine years of experience in the classroom, Mr. Moran transitioned to an Assistant Principal position at Stephen F. Austin High School, and subsequently earned a promotion to the role of Associate Principal. He then dedicated 5 years of service as Principal of Clements High School, part of the Fort Bend Independent School District. Clements was recognized by Texas Monthly magazine as among the top 10 secondary schools in Texas.
Kevin Moran currently serves as Principal of Diboll High School in Diboll, Texas, a position he has held since 2010. Committed to reaching all students, Moran has streamlined the school’s English for Speakers of Other Languages program to better support English language learners. He has also developed an outreach program intended to involve parents and families of students who are at risk. In addition, Mr. Moran has revised campus instructional, fiscal, and crisis policy to ensure students’ safety and academic development, while ensuring favorable financial outcomes for the school and district.
A graduate student in educational leadership at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, Mr. Moran expects to complete his doctorate in 2014. Mr. Moran earned a Master’s in Administration and Supervision at The University of Houston, and received a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in 1988. In his spare time, Mr. Moran enjoys fine dining and fitness.
He belongs to several member-based organizations, including the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals, the Texas Association of School Administrators, and the National Association of Secondary School Principals. Mr. Moran possesses certification as a social studies teacher, superintendent, and principal through the Texas Education Agency.
