Firstline Prodigy
Currently owned by Actuality Entertainment, The Prodigy was a reality TV show created by the executive team at Firstline Security, Inc., to find promising sales talent across the nation. The purpose of the show was to identify these qualified sales representatives in a new, engaging, and sustainable format that minimized recruiting costs. The brainchild of Firstline CMO Bryan Ferre, The Prodigy followed contestants as they learned the basics of customer sales, developed business presentations, and competed to sell products. Each week of the show featured a skills competition, evaluated by a guest judge, as well as sales presentations to customers. Contestants were also evaluated based on their sales performance. The last five contestants traveled to Hawaii for the final awards ceremony, with the Firstline Board of Directors determining the overall winner. The first place winner would receive a new car and a total of $1 million, $700,000 for investment in a business and $300,000 in cash.
In total, Firstline accumulated more than 80 hours of footage for its premier season of The Prodigy, following the contestants through recruitment and training, their time in corporate housing, weekly competitions, and the final ceremonies. Due to unforeseen legal difficulties with a supplier, Firstline filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy shortly after production and was unable ever to air The Prodigy. However, the show’s first place winner, Jordan Folsom, still received $300,000 in cash and a new car from Firstline. The intellectual property rights to The Prodigy currently belong to Actuality Entertainment.
