Dr. Meir Chernofsky
Providing the future doctors and nurses of the United States Armed Forces with the highest quality training and expertise available, Dr. Meir Chernofsky is a proud and active member of the faculty at Uniformed Services University. As an Assistant Professor in the Anesthesiology Department at the prestigious school, Dr. Meir Chernofsky has been responsible for coordinating anesthesiology courses for medical students, developing curriculum for a simulation course in anesthesiology, and implementing a crisis management course for anesthesia residents. Capitalizing on years of experience as a practicing medical doctor, Dr. Meir Chernofsky is an impressive presence in the classroom and a considerable asset to the University. Earning his Medical Degree from New York University’s School of Medicine, Dr. Meir Chernofsky quickly proved his ability as a doctor through a Family Practice residency with the University of California Irvine/Long Beach Memorial Hospital. During his residency, Dr. Chernofsky earned top scores on his in-service exams for three consecutive years. Following his family medicine residency, Dr. Chernofsky took up a second residency with the University of California Los Angeles/Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in anesthesiology. As a responsible physician dedicated to progressing his field, Dr. Meir Chernofsky is active in several major professional organizations. His affiliations include the Uniformed Services Society of Anesthesiologists, Society for Medical Simulation, American Society of Anesthesiologists, and Society for Education in Anesthesia. A talented musician, Dr. Meir Chernofsky spends his leisure time playing a variety of instruments, including the banjo, guitar, tin whistle, and Irish bagpipes. Accustomed to spending a good deal of time in a hospital, Dr. Meir Chernofsky helps provide kosher meals and other necessary medical-related services to hospital patients through his involvement with the Jewish service organizations Yad Sarah and Bikur Cholim.
