Dr. Kevin Buckwalter first began working in Henderson when he served in the Family Practice and Urgent Care center in the town’s Fremont Medical Center. Freemont Medical Center is an award winning health care provider that employs over 50 physicians and 400 health care professionals in eight locations across Nevada. Freemont Medical Center opened in 1985, and has since earned plenty of praise, earning a selection as one of the best Family Practice health centers in the 2008 Las Vegas Local Business Association awards. This award winning attention to family care has transferred directly into Kevin Buckwalter’s practice, helping him maintain a loyal and happy patient base. Providing patient care in the Las Vegas Valley longer than any other medical group, the knowledge and commitment to top class medical care embodied by the Freemont Medical Center was important for setting Buckwalter’s career on the right path. Buckwalter left the Freemont Medical Center in 2000 to work in California at the Sierra View District Hospital. Sierra View provided medical service to the County of Tulare, helping about 100,000 people annually in the growing and diverse population that is spread throughout the county. Dr. Buckwalter left California in 2001 to create his own practice back in Nevada. Buckwalter spent eight years in college preparing for his future as a physician. Buckwalter attended the University of Nevada, Reno from 1985 to 1988, gaining his Major in Public Health. Buckwalter then moved to Ross University School of Medicine, graduating with his M.D. in 1993.
