David Bussone is the founder and owner of Apparo Healthcare, LLC, an independent consulting firm aiding hospitals and health care corporations. A prominent health care executive with 30 years of experience, David Bussone has built a reputation for increasing efficiency as well as profits. Following a series of administrative roles for the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) in Nashville, Tennessee, and Atlanta, Georgia, David Bussone became the Associate Director and Chief Operating Officer for the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. In one year, David Bussone turned around a $13 million budget. David Bussone next became Director and Chief Executive Officer of the University of Mississippi Medical Center, overseeing three hospitals. After making numerous improvements, David Bussone saw net patient revenues reach $180 million. After meeting his goals in Mississippi, David Bussone moved to Florida to become President and Chief Executive Officer of Tampa General Healthcare, a three-facility system. David Bussone acquired an additional psychiatric facility to diversify services. HCA once again engaged David Bussone to run two new hospital acquisitions in Plantation, Florida. David Bussone integrated the management teams and physician departments of Westside Regional Medical Center and Plantation General Hospital to increase efficiency and revenue. Cambio Health Solutions (now FTI Cambio) in Brentwood, Tennessee, then hired David Bussone as a Senior Vice President to implement improvements for a number of client hospitals, regional medical centers, and health care systems. David Bussone achieved annual improvements of as much as $37 million. David Bussone opened Apparo Healthcare, LLC, in 2002. Today, he serves as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. David Bussone provides his know-how in upgrading productivity and revenue to his health care system and hospital clientele. In 2005, David Bussone accepted the position of Group Director for The Valley Health System in Las Vegas, offered by Universal Health Services, Inc. David Bussone reached market share leadership while cutting costs and growing operating margins by 14 percent. His success led to his promotion to Senior Vice President of the Acute Division and Vice President of the Western Region. While overseeing operations and budgets for 11 acute care hospitals, David Bussone constructed a 12th facility, where his net patient revenues approximated $2 billion. MedCath Corporation of Charlotte, North Carolina, next approached David Bussone for his help in expanding its hospital base to include general acute care facilities in 2009. Under his guidance, consolidated net patient revenue reached almost $600 million one year later. Today, David Bussone lives in Charlotte, North Carolina. He possesses a Master of Business Administration in Health Care Management from Boston University, and he is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
