A skilled business leader, Stephen A. McPherson is well known at the man behind one of the most dramatic network turnarounds in the history of television. Serving as the President of ABC Entertainment from 2004 to 2010, Steve McPherson played a key role in the development of some of ABC’s most successful shows, including Lost, Desperate Housewives, and Grey’s Anatomy. Under Mr. McPherson’s stewardship, ABC continued to produce a variety of hits, such as Dancing With the Stars and Modern Family. His efforts resulted in ABC’s profits growing to upwards of $700 million annually, a total reversal from the network’s multi-million dollar losses in previous years.

Possessing a varied background in entertainment, Steve McPherson commenced his Hollywood career as a Production Assistant with Witt/Thomas/Harris Productions, where he worked on shows such as The Golden Girls and Empty Nest. Mr. McPherson’s creative talent and business savvy quickly led to a promotion as Coordinator with the studio’s Development Department. Mr. McPherson continued to climb the corporate ladder, eventually joining Fox Broadcasting as Manager of Current Programs, working with budding talent including Judd Apatow and Martin Lawrence.

Steve McPherson went on to join ABC as Vice President of Drama Development, eventually gaining oversight for all of the company’s development endeavors. When Disney bought ABC Productions, he took a position as Vice President of Creative Affairs with NBC, where he was instrumental in the company’s increased success.

Mr. McPherson rejoined the Disney-owned network as the President of Disney’s Touchstone Television studio. In this role, Steve McPherson developed and cultivated blockbuster shows such as CSI, The Amazing Race, Monk, and Scrubs until his promotion to President of ABC Entertainment in 2004.

Currently, Mr. McPherson owns and operates a private equity venture firm, McPherson Global Ventures. The company holds a diverse portfolio of entrepreneurial enterprises, like The Original MOONSHINE (moonshine.com), PROMISE Wine (promisewine.com), and PURPAK Life Supplement (livepurpak.com).
