Engineer and business executive Niranjan Shah has accumulated a variety of accomplishments over the course of his career as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Globetrotters Engineering Corporation. Since founding the Chicago-based engineering company in 1974, Niranjan Shah has expanded the corporation to encompass in-house architectural design studio GEC Design Group and subsidiary company Information Technology Group. The company offers services in multiple disciplines, including electrical, structural, and mechanical engineering.

As CEO of Globetrotters Engineering Corporation, Niranjan Shah leads a team of over 250 professionals. Shah’s team has been integral in work on several major projects, including the international terminal at O’Hare International Airport and Chicago’s six-lane I-355 South Extension.

In addition to leading one of Chicago’s earliest large-scale, minority-owned corporations, Niranjan Shah has also remained active in the political community since the early ’90s. A Delegate for President Bill Clinton at the 1992 Democratic National Convention in New York City, Shah procured several additional appointments from the former President, including a position on the Board for the Goldwater Foundation for Excellence in Education. He has made contributions to a number of other Democratic organizations as well, including the National Finance Committee and the National Steering Committee for President Clinton’s election campaign in 1992 and 1996.

Niranjan Shah has also served on the Economic Development Committee for Chicago at the request of Mayor Daley, as Vice Chairman for the Asian American Advisory Committee of Senator Paul Simon, and as a member of the Governing Board of Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He continues to contribute to public service initiatives as a member of the Illinois State Police Merit Board.
