J. Mark Brewer

As President, Managing Director, and co-founder of Houston-based law firm Brewer & Pritchard, P.C., J. Mark Brewer has 30 years of experience in commercial litigation, with particular expertise in cases involving construction design and defects in high-rise buildings. Mr. Brewer serves as both an attorney and legal scholar, demonstrating his acumen both inside and outside of the courtroom. Over the course of his career, J. Mark Brewer has built an impressive reputation as a litigator, winning multimillion-dollar lawsuits and settlements for clients, upholding a solid ethical and professional standard, and submitting articles to various scholarly and mainstream publications. In addition, J. Mark Brewer has received numerous invitations to speak at major industry groups and media outlets, notably the National Press Club, Fox Business News, and C-Span. Rated AV Preeminent by the Martindale-Hubbell peer review system, Mr. Brewer is affiliated with such legal organizations as the American Association for Justice, the Texas Bar Foundation, and the American Bar Association, where he participates in the Tort and Insurance Practice Section, the Forum Committee on the Construction Industry, and the Fidelity and Surety Law Committee.

Prior to the formation of Brewer & Pritchard, J. Mark Brewer practiced with a variety of major firms, including Nathan, Wood & Sommers; Winstead PC; Margolin & Kirwan; and Kodas, Reed & McFadden. A former Assistant Staff Judge Advocate and Chief Military Justice for the U.S. Air Force as well, Mr. Brewer handled more than 60 jury trials during his involvement with the J.A.G. Corps. A graduate of the University of Missouri—Kansas City School of Law, the University of Southern California, and Oral Roberts University, Mr. Brewer earned his Juris Doctorate, Master of Arts in International Relations, and Bachelor of Musical Education from these respective institutions.
