Homeland Healthcare

Established in the late 1990s, Homeland HealthCare has grown so rapidly that it has been recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of America’s 500 fastest-growing privately held companies. Homeland HealthCare administers supplemental health insurance policies as well as term life, disability, and dental indemnity policies, both for groups and individuals. Homeland HealthCare saves substantially on the administration of supplemental health insurance because the benefits are triggered by covered events and paid at a predetermined amount—eliminating the need to calculate payments based on provider charges. Homeland HealthCare passes these savings on to policyholders in the form of drastically reduced premiums.

Homeland HealthCare works with major national insurance carriers like the American Medical and Life Insurance Company and USHEALTH Group to design flexible supplemental health insurance plans. In addition to their reduced cost, supplemental plans are attractive because they generally guarantee coverage to all applicants, even those with pre-existing conditions. Such individuals usually must maintain insured status for a year before coverage for those conditions goes into effect, but all other conditions and events remain covered. Group coverage in areas of pre-existing conditions, however, generally begins immediately upon inclusion in the group.

The supplemental health insurance policies issued by Homeland HealthCare cover a wide range of events and circumstances such as office visits, tests and screenings, well-baby physician visits, hospital admission, and surgery, among others. Even more, they pay an additional amount for every day of hospital confinement after the day of admission as well as for time spent in intensive care. The benefits, usually lump-sum payments, can be made to the hospital/doctor or directly to the policyholder, at the policyholder’s direction.

In addition to the schedule of cash benefits offered by its supplemental health insurance policies, Homeland HealthCare sponsors a variety of wellness programs. Its Consult a Doctor program for telemedicine and online health care, for example, makes board-certified physicians available 24 hour a day for free consultations and to answer questions. The program also maintains an extensive online reference library that its policyholders can access at any time.
