Accounting, finance, and middle market consulting expertise make Gary D. Herwitz an asset to the international business community. He began learning about business at Syracuse University, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Transportation and Distribution Management in 1977. As a member of the Beta Alpha Psi honor society and The Martin J. Whitman School of Management’s Accounting Advisory Board, Gary D. Herwitz distinguished himself as a college student. After finishing his studies, his first formal position was at Mahoney Cohen & Company (now known as Mahoney Cohen Rashba & Pokart), an accounting and professional services firm that ranks among New York’s top 20 accounting organizations. Gary D. Herwitz excelled at the company, ultimately heading the firm as President until 2005. At the end of his tenure with Mahoney Cohen, Gary D. Herwitz founded CoMetrics Partners LLC, which provides consulting services to middle market companies to streamline operations through improved organizational and business practices. The firm nurtured seven acquisitions in the past five years. Boy Meets Girl, a juniors clothing line, and Campus Candy, a social-oriented candy store aimed at college students, are among the agreements that Gary D. Herwitz brokered. Gary D. Herwitz managed deals in China for much of 2007, where he assisted in the acquisition of China’s 3rd-largest timepiece retailer. While in China, he worked with supply chain service providers Summit Logistics and Log-Net, which later merged into SumMetrics. Gary D. Herwitz’s media coverage includes mention in publications of the International Association of Business Leaders and an article in Women’s Wear Daily. Gary D. Herwitz enjoys community service, charity, and the outdoors. He served as Finance Chapter Chair of the Organization of Rehabilitation Therapy and Finance Board Member for Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City. Gary D. Herwitz enjoys skiing and bass fishing.
