Frederick Teitman
Frederick Teitman became part of the General Electric Transportation team in 2001, when he gained admission to GE’s Information and Management Leadership Program after completing his college education. This challenging two year program is divided into formal training and four, six -month long assignments. While participating in the program, Fred Teitman focused on streamlining the costs and improving the efficiency within the departments he was assigned to. His work as the Project Leader in Global Supply Chain and Indirect Sourcing Operations earned Fred Teitman a Best Practice Award from Gary Reiner, VP and CIO of GE. His ongoing interest in e-commerce and its impact on business solutions led Fred Teitman to accept a position with PayPal and eBay in 2003. Dedicated to innovation and problem solving, he introduced new practices that increased efficiency and improved business controls. He set up PayPal’s first Enterprise Reporting Dashboard, providing management with clear, visible means of measuring operational efficiency. Fred Teitman organized an internal Skunk Works for PayPal, which led to 5 new products and 168 patent submissions. He also designed a new method for product development that increased productivity by 12 percent and significantly reduced product concept to market time. Fred Teitman rejoined GE’s Transportation Division in 2005 to lead a Planning and Asset Management Team. The group designed an integrated scorecard that reduced the repair and return cycle by 20 percent. Fred Teitman also successfully decreased the potential expense of lost assets by 58 percent. In 2010, Fred Teitman took on a new assignment within GE as Commercial Operations Manager at GE Mining. His work responsibilities include overseeing the manufacturing, finished good inventory, and delivery schedules of electrical drive systems containing a microprocessor, alternator, and wheel drive. Fred Teitman also collaborates with in-house teams to design manufacturing plans that meet customer requirements. Fred Teitman volunteers his time to community causes for homeless women and disadvantaged children. He provides financial support to he Make-A-Wish Foundation, Habitat for Humanity International, and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
