Eva Mastromatteo
A graduate of the University of Akron, Eva Mastromatteo put her degree in Public Relations and Mass Media Communication to use at a number of broadcasting companies, most recently Nexstar Broadcasting Group, Inc., and Lilly Broadcasting. As a full-time anchor, Ms. Mastromatteo has worked on morning, evening, and weekend newscasts over her more than 10 years in news with CBS, NBC, and ABC network affiliates. She has also worked for My Network, FOX, and CW affiliates. She current anchors Mornings Live on WSEE-TV with meteorologist Ed Russo.
Eva Mastromatteo got her start in broadcasting during her college years with WZIP-FM, a student-run radio station at the University of Akron. There, she worked for several years with the sports and news departments. In 2000, the year she graduated, Ms. Mastromatteo began a decade in broadcasting with a number of affiliate TV and radio stations, including CBS affiliate Withers Broadcasting and CNN affiliate WMFD-TV. Working for these companies and others, such as Nexstar, New Vision, and Lilly Broadcasting, she has gained experience in reporting, anchoring, and producing on local, national, and international stories.
Eva Mastromatteo is part of a number of community organizations. She is a longtime member of the Greater Youngstown Italian Fest in Ohio and has helped out with the festival pageant since being crowned queen in 1995. Ms. Mastromatteo has also volunteered with the Junior League of Youngstown and held membership in the Mahoning Valley Professional 20/30 Club. A backer of several charitable organizations, Ms. Mastromatteo supports the American Heart Association, Inc., and has taken part in walk-a-thons to benefit the American Cancer Society, Inc. A recreational runner, she has participated in several 5K races for fundraisers in both Ohio and Pennsylvania.
