Dr Natasha Dwamena
A gynecologist who aims to educate the public and the greater community of physicians, Dr. Natasha Dwamena engaged with the field as a resident at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. In this capacity, Dr. Natasha Dwamena garnered considerable clinical experience in assisting under-resourced demographics. Additionally, she obtained expertise in areas including C-sections, gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, preterm labor, and vacuum-assisted vaginal deliveries. Dr. Natasha Dwamena’s residency subsequently propelled her toward a role with Pinewest Obstetrics and Gynecology, a small practice in High Point, North Carolina. As a Junior Associate Physician, she led efforts to improve the office’s procedures of endometrial ablation, IUD insertion, cryoablation, and colposcopy. Additionally, Dr. Dwamena collaborated with the Guilford County Department of Health in redeveloping the pregnancy medical home program.
Outside of working with health care institutions, Dr. Natasha Dwamena frequently makes presentations and contributes to publications. In 2011, she appeared on the local television program Triad Today and offered a talk entitled “Safe Sex: Understanding the Many Options.” During her residency, she completed research on a study concerning “To Give or Not to Give: Patterns and Perceptions of Postpartum Contraception Counseling.”
Dr. Natasha Dwamena holds a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity from Stanford University and a Doctor of Medicine from University of Medicine & Dentistry-New Jersey Medical School. Committed to enhancing and widening the resources available to a broad scope of women, she continues to focus her research efforts on issues that affect women of color, as well as areas of sexual dysfunction and gynecologic infectious disease. She maintains an active voice in her field as a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Medical Association.
