Dr Linda Muir
Dr. Linda Muir presently serves as Chief of Pediatric Gastroenterology at Oregon Health & Science University. She works to expand the division in order to improve services for children in Washington and Oregon. As a former dietitian, Dr. Linda Muir supports affiliated divisions of her unit, including the feeding and dietetic programs. Her responsibilities involve managing a team of health care professionals; working with the OR/endoscopy manager to ensure efficient, state-of-the-art, and safe care of pediatric patients; as well as seeking to improve patient care. Dr. Muir's efforts have resulted in the expansion of the nursing support team, allowing for effective care of patients with complex illnesses.
Dr. Linda Muir completed her Doctor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, commuting over 100 miles each day from Davis. She received the American Mensa Education and Research Foundation Scholarship, as well as the Phi Kappa Phi Scholarship. Dr. Muir went on to complete her residency and fellowship at The University of Iowa, where she studied pediatric gastroenterology. Prior to attending medical school, she studied nutrition science at the University of California, Davis, and graduated with highest honors. After completing her undergraduate degree, she worked as a dietitian alongside pediatric physicians at UC Davis.
When she is not busy caring for patients, Dr. Linda Muir enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, as well as charitable endeavors. She takes advantage of the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest by going camping, kayaking, and hiking. Her favorite locales are the San Juan Islands, the Oregon coast, and Priest Lake, Idaho. She also enjoys gardening and home improvement. Dr. Linda Muir participates in 4-H events with her husband, a 4-H director. She contributes to various charitable organizations such as the American Red Cross, the Mark Rypien Foundation, the Doernbecher Children's Hospital Foundation, and the Children’s Digestive Health and Nutrition Foundation.
