Charles Hinck
Charles Hinck was born into a family of skilled aviators. The Hinck family’s love of the air stretches back to 1919, the year that Charles’ grandfather, Clarence “CW” Hinck, founded Hinck Flying Service in Minnesota. Charles’ great uncle, Elmer Hinck, was a highly regarded pilot and flight instructor and his father, Irving Hinck, also worked as a pilot and flight instructor. _Charles Hinck attended Montana State University in Billings and Rocky Mountain College, where he later taught Aviation Law as a guest lecturer. After he received his pilot’s license in 1970 at Lynch Flying Service in Billings, Charles Hinck was a professional skier from 1971 to 1976 in Red Lodge, Montana. Following his time on the slopes, Mr. Charles Hinck went on to become a corporate pilot and salesman for the Denver-based WedgCor Steel Buildings, selling farm buildings throughout the Midwest and Canada. After this, Charles joined Corporate Air-USA, a FedEx Feeder operator based out of Billings, MT. There, he was the pilot for US Senator Max Bacchus, Senator Harry Reid, and Harry B. Combs, the late owner of Combs Gates FBOs and President of Gates Learjet. Charles also had the opportunity to work alongside the late Northwest captain Paul A. Soderlind, who—being very fond of Charles—had referred to the younger man as his “Get it done guy.” Exciting events transpired in the mid-nineties: In 1995, FedEx sent Charles Hinck—along with four other individuals—to open the first Asia Pacific hub for FedEx at the US Naval Base in Subic Bay, Philippines. There, as the Corporate Air VP-Operations, he set up the intra-Philippine FedEx cargo feeder operations and the scheduled air bridge between Subic and Manila for FedEx pilots. _Currently, Charles Hinck is working on various aircraft projects for the Philippines and Germany. In addition, he is also a Consultant for Marketing and Sales at Pacific JetCorp Ltd., the Cessna Aircraft Authorized Sales Representative (ASR) for the Philippines and Indonesia. In his free time, Mr. Hinck enjoys reading works by Tom Clancy and Robert Ludlum. A father of two, Charles Hinck is happily married to his wife, Roslyn.
