Family and occupational health physician Dr. Cedric Fernando brings a wealth of expertise and a deep commitment to patient care in his work at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital in Unicoi County, Tennessee. With nearly 25 years of professional experience, Dr. Cedric Fernando serves the manifold needs of his patients in the Occupational Health Department at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital, where he performs as Medical Director and focuses his energy on the administration of comprehensive worker care programs to employers throughout Eastern Tennessee. Concerned with all aspects of occupational health, Dr. Cedric Fernando offers preventative medicine, including vaccinations and immunizations, along with the evaluation and treatment of work-related injuries, substance abuse monitoring, and pre-employment evaluations, among other services. A teacher as well, Dr. Cedric Fernando has spent more than two decades as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the East Tennessee State University James H. Quillen College of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine. Raised in Sri Lanka, Dr. Cedric Fernando moved to the British West Indies to pursue graduate studies at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, earning his M.D. in 1983. After graduation, Dr. Cedric Fernando entered into an internship and residency in family medicine at the James H. Quillen College of Medicine, where he continued to build upon his strong history of medical training. Since then, Dr. Cedric Fernando has gained fellowship in the American Academy of Family Physicians, certification through the American Board of Family Medicine, and membership in the American Academy of Family Medicine, the Tennessee Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Association of Medical Review Officers. Dr. Cedric Fernando lives and works in Eastern Tennessee.
