Betty Vandenbosch

Since 2009, Betty Vandenbosch has led Kaplan University’s division of Business and Information Technology as the Vice President. A graduate of The University of Western Ontario, Ms. Vandenbosch completed her Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration in 1993 and her Master of Business Administration in 1983. Additionally, Betty Vandenbosch received the Suncor Energy Inc. Doctoral Fellowship of $15,000. Betty Vandenbosch assumed her current role with Kaplan after serving as the Dean of the School of Information System and Technology and the Dean of the School of Business and Management. She is responsible for the addition of the Master’s degree program for accounting, as well as the Master’s degree program for information technology. Ms. Vandenbosch joined Kaplan University after a 15-year career with Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management, where she primarily served as Associate Professor. In recognition of her continued academic contributions, Betty Vandenbosch was awarded the Weatherhead School of Management's Excellence in Executive Teaching Award for Executive Education in 2004, as well as in 2000. In her book published with Jossey-Bass in 2003, Betty Vandenbosch’s Designing Solutions for Your Business Problems guides business professionals through tested techniques for problem solving. Teaching business strategies through visual aids, Ms. Vandenbosch also employs the use of a "logic diagram" to help users test the validity of an implemented solution. She is a frequent contributor to business journals, and co-wrote the article “Where Ideas Come From and Why it Matters” in the Journal of Business Strategy. She is also a frequent speaker at ICT conferences around the United States and Canada and presented in Kokkola, Finland, at the INFWEST conference held in 2003. Betty Vandenbosch serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Business Strategy and is a previous Editorial Board Member of the journals Information and Organization and Prentice Hall Case Series for Management Information Systems. A longtime supporter of the arts and social causes, Ms. Vandenbosch currently serves on the Visual Arts Grant Committee for Funding Arts Broward, Inc., (FAB!) and has served in a variety of administrative positions for the United Way of Greater Cleveland.
