Amrita Dutta-gupta
Amrita Dutta-Gupta, a marketing and strategy professional with experience assisting companies in multiple industries, has amassed a thorough and varied education covering several fields. She began her studies at Vanderbilt University, from which she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science in 2003. While at Vanderbilt, Amrita Dutta-Gupta took the opportunity to serve as the chairperson of several committees and sat on the boards of others. She parlayed her experience organizing events for the school, including managing a $150,000 budget and overseeing five subcommittees, into a position at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law as an Event Coordinator after graduation.
After working in marketing for several years at information technology and government services provider Paramount Solutions, Amrita Dutta-Gupta returned to school in 2009 at Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management. She enrolled in a Master of Business Administration program, focusing on marketing and international studies. Her coursework included two experiences at schools outside the United States: In 2010, she took a specialized course at Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien in Austria, focusing on market entry and how to do business in Eastern and Central Europe. In early 2011, she followed up with a course at Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile on global negotiation and global competition. Ms. Dutta-Gupta finished her MBA in May of 2011.
Amrita Dutta-Gupta remained as engaged a graduate student as she was an undergraduate. While completing her MBA, she served as President of the Global Business Association, Fundraising Director for Project Pyramid, and Senator in the Owen Student Government Association. She also held memberships in the Vanderbilt Marketing Association, the Women’s Business Association, NetImpact, and the Owen Culinary Society. Today, Amrita Dutta-Gupta maintains affiliations with groups including the Vanderbilt Global Business Association, the Vanderbilt Alumni Association, and the National Association of Women MBAs.
