Alta Loma, California, resident Alex-Yumbya Kisia has always deeply believed in giving back to his community. To that end, he began mentoring for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America organization in 2006 and to date has provided numerous urban youths with exposure to the construction industry and helped guide them toward rewarding careers. Alex-Yumbya Kisia also supports various other charities, including The Salvation Army, the American Red Cross, the March of Dimes Foundation, and United Way Worldwide. In addition to his charity work, Alex-Yumbya Kisia belongs to various professional organizations, including Black Students at Caltech (BSCIT), an organization linked to the National Society of Black Engineers. As a member of the Minority Business Development Agency, Alex-Yumbya Kisia participates in this federal organization that was created to promote the creation and growth of American minority-owned businesses.
Professionally, Alex-Yumbya Kisia serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of the company Yumbya Investment Group Inc., which has headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada, and which he opened in 2001. There, he oversees day-to-day operations of his business, which incorporates real estate development, property management, and commercial construction groups. Alex-Yumbya Kisia ensures that all groups run smoothly and that they get the information they need to both buy properties and hold the mortgages on them, build properties, and manage properties. With buildings so far in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Prescott, Arizona, Alex-Yumbya Kisia stays quite busy. Working with main business partner Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., Alex-Yumbya Kisia has managed to stay profitable in a time that frequently proven difficult for those in the real estate and construction industries. He currently plans to expand his business to provide the quality service he is known for to a host of new clients.
