Terence Fitzgerald
Based in Asheville, North Carolina, Dr. Terence Fitzgerald has served as CEO and Director of the Center for Occupational Rehabilitation (COR) for nearly two decades. As the owner, he manages one of a small number of stand-alone rehabilitation outpatient centers located on the East Coast that concentrate solely on workers with disabilities. Dr. Terence Fitzgerald’s medical team offers a wide range of services for the injured worker, ranging from 30-minute physical therapy appointments to full-day comprehensive pain management programs. Dr. Fitzgerald’s carefully directed facilities provide on-site occupational medicine and services for clinical health psychology.
As CEO and Director, Dr. Terence Fitzgerald oversees day-to-day operations and program development. He also supervises the OccuPartners and CORfund educational outreach programs. Promoting evidence-based care and educational outreach, Dr. Fitzgerald collaborates with industry professionals to meet the needs of those with work-related disabilities. In addition to his role at the Center for Occupational Rehabilitation, he oversees his private practice, Carolina Health Psychology.
Board certified in clinical health psychology, Dr. Terence Fitzgerald possesses a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Rhode Island. Dr. Terence Fitzgerald undertook his internship at the Pain Evaluation and Treatment Institute of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed postdoctoral fellowships with the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in behavioral medicine and occupational rehabilitation. Additionally, he is regularly sought as a contributor to both peer-reviewed publications and as a presenter at medical conferences on the topic of work-related disability and recovery.
