Dr. John McGuire

A busy medical professional, Dr. John McGuire serves as Attending Physician and a member of the Surgical Services Committee at Fallbrook Hospital in California. Dr. McGuire is also co-founder and Chief Executive Officer at Mindset Technologies, Inc., and an Otolaryngology Consultant for the Gerson Lehrman Group, Inc.’s Councils. Although these positions are all demanding, Dr. John McGuire still finds time to contribute to medical literature and presentations in his area of expertise.

Since he was a medical student at the Georgetown University School of Medicine, Dr. John McGuire has contributed material to a host of professional publications. For example, he submitted an article titled “Surfactant in the Middle Ear and Eustachian Tube: A Review” to the International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology in 2002. A year later, he collaborated on a Current Allergy and Asthma Reports article entitled “A New Histological Classification for Chronic Rhinosinusitis.” Other material to which he has contributed his expertise include “Toxic Soluble Oligomers in the Olfactory Mucosa; An Extracranial Biomark for Intracranial Pathology,” “Intratympanic steroids for idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss,” and “Inner Ear, Tinnitus.”

Along with these many articles, and the studies that inspired them, Dr. John McGuire has contributed to multiple medical textbooks. He wrote the chapter on “Molecular Genetics and its Applications in Otology” for the Textbook of Otology. He also penned the chapters “Facial Trauma” and “Trauma to the Neck” in The 10 Minute ENT Consult. For the book Otolaryngology: Head and Neck Surgery, Dr. McGuire co-wrote the chapters “Pharmacologic and Molecular Therapies of the Cochlear and Vestibular Labyrinth,” and “Pharmacologic Treatment of the Cochlea and Labyrinth.”
