Susan Lippencott
Municipal Court Judge Susan Fornof-Lippencott aids her Ohio community by participating in a variety of public and professional organizations. Local schools in Mechanicsburg, Urbana, Graham, and West Liberty-Salem receive Susan Fornof-Lippencott’s assistance as a mock trial judge; a lecturer; and a reader to young children. A supporter of 4-H, Susan Fornof-Lippencott also contributes her time to the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church, the Champaign County Arts Council, the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Cancer Association of Champaign County. Professionally, Susan Fornof-Lippencott actively engages in the Ohio State Bar Association, the Ohio Municipal Judges Association, and the Champaign County Bar Association. The recipient of a Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio, Susan Fornof-Lippencott’s performance as a Judge regularly benefits the residents of Champaign County. From her bench, Susan Fornof-Lippencott tries traffic, criminal, small claims, and civil cases in addition to swearing in officials and conducting weddings. Responsible for running the daily business of the Urbana, Ohio court, Susan Fornof-Lippencott also co-creates the annual budget. A believer in correctional rather than punitive measures, Susan Fornof-Lippencott offers offenders alternatives to jail time through her Probation Department initiative. Among her other duties are the swearing-in of officials, including the mayor of Urbana, Champaign County Trustees, Urbana police officers, and the Urbana City Council. From her Urbana home, Susan Fornof-Lippencott likes working outdoors and doing arts and crafts. While maintaining her vegetable and flower garden, Susan Fornof-Lippencott also farms and rides horses. During down time, Susan Fornof-Lippencott sews and makes pottery and macramé crafts.
