As a 10-year-old child, David Fett, MD moved his baseball mitt at the wrong time and a ball struck him in the eye, temporarily injuring his retina. The experience changed him, and he went on to become a board-certified Ophthalmologist. His wife later recovered from a life-threatening illness with the assistance of a biologically engineered drug. In 2010, the couple established a graduate fellowship at MIT, the university where David Fett, MD earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.
