Sajid Huq
Currently a Senior Manager of Industries & Marketing at KPMG LLP’s offices in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Delhi, India, Sajid Huq is an accomplished financial analyst and researcher. In addition to developing presentations and in-house account management research projects regarding financial markets, Sajid Huq has published widely on a variety of topics of global importance. Sajid Huq earned his Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and History at Dartmouth College, where he won the Vivian Allen Foundation Scholarship for Academic Achievement. While at Dartmouth, Mr. Huq served as a Research Associate at the Center for Asia and the Emerging Economies, where he co-authored the annual Emerging Market Access Index, measuring the openness of developing markets, a report later published by Time International. Mr. Huq also managed a staff of over 40 editors as Assistant Manager of The Dartmouth, America’s oldest college newspaper. A number of Mr. Huq’s articles were published by the prestigious School of Oriental and African Studies Graduate Research Journal. One of his research papers on the role of the American government in the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War earned publication in a Bangladeshi academic journal, and the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh published one of Huq’s papers on Colonialism in India. Sajid Huq’s reputation as a scholar grew during his graduate study years, when he served as a visiting faculty member at the Economics and Social Studies Department at BRAC University. A range of conventional and new media sites also regularly feature Sajid Huq’s writings. Mr. Huq has contributed to the Daily Star newspaper, Star Weekend magazine, New Age, Bangladesh Today, and The Independent. Mr. Huq’s article, “The Car-Bomb: Terror’s Globalization,” analyzing the globalization of terror and the use of asymmetric warfare, was published by the online magazine Open Democracy. In addition to his contributions to other sources, Sajid Huq founded the online web log, “Secret Dhaka,” drawing thousands of readers with articles on history, politics, and religion. Sajid Huq is fluent in English, Bengali, and Hindi, and proficient in Arabic and French.
