Phil Brown
Phil Brown, Ph.D. is Economist at GeoSource Capital, based in Washington, DC and York, PA. Brown holds a doctorate in economics from the University of Michigan and is a recognized authority on sustainable economic development, labor, and microeconometric analysis. He has published some 30 articles in influential professional journals such as the Journal of Development Economics, the Journal of Human Resources, and the Journal of Environmental Economics, and his research findings have been featured in the New York Times and on National Public Radio. He is past co-editor of the China Economic Review and recently completed a 3-year term on the Fulbright Specialists Roster. Brown is an expert reviewer for the National Science Foundation and has undertaken major consultancies for the Ministry of Planning in Chile and the National Development and Reform Commission in China. He is a member of the American Economic Association and is past vice-president of the Chinese Economists Society. Brown is active in the Episcopal Church and enjoys reading and artisanal bread baking in his free time.
