Mark Handel
Throughout his career, real estate developer and film producer Mark Handel has maintained involvement in a wide range of professional and personal endeavors. Spending the first five years of his life in Brazil, Mark Handel moved with his family to the Los Angeles metropolitan area and settled in the San Fernando Valley. After high school, Mark Handel attended San Diego State University and later transferred to the University of California, Los Angeles, where he pursued a number of subjects in the undergraduate curriculum. Cultivating his innate entrepreneurial spirit, Mark Handel traded college for an opportunity to learn the real estate profession in a hands-on setting.
Mark Handel received his first taste of real estate entrepreneurship as a small-tenant improvement contractor, with clients in and around Los Angeles. During this time, Mark Handel laid solid foundations for the rest of his career, gaining an intimate familiarity with the real estate industry and building a reputation for reliability in all aspects of his work. Seeking to diversify his skill and expertise as a real estate contractor, Mark Handel moved to New York City to take a role with a large construction and property management company. In this capacity, Mark Handel worked as a supervisor and continued to develop his acumen in the residential real estate marketplace. Mark Handel joined with partner Scott Adler in 1987 to form MVH Development Corporation, in which he builds exclusive gated communities, estate homes, and luxury condominiums in the San Fernando Valley Region.
Over the years, Mark Handel has collaborated on a number of feature motion pictures, starring such recognized actors as Paul Walker, Christian Slater, Laurence Fishburne, Keith Carradine, and Olivia Wilde. Among his many film credits, Mark Handel recently executive produced 2007’s The Death and Life of Bobby Z and Love Lies Bleeding in 2008. A resident of Burbank, Mark Handel works in the Los Angeles area and elsewhere.
