Jonathan Bridges
Dr. Jonathan Bridges, a cardiologist based in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, boasts a distinguished background with numerous recognitions for his achievements. As an undergraduate at the University of Notre Dame, Dr. Bridges earned a Bachelor of Business Administration. He was presented with the Herman Crown Award and named Valedictorian of the Mendoza College of Business. A participant in the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC), Dr. Bridges won the Distinguished Military Graduate award, presented for leadership and academic excellence, as well as a ROTC Academic Award all four years he spent at the University. Dr. Bridges also earned the Reverend John J. Cavanaugh, C.S.C. Award for outstanding leadership and a General Dynamics Achievement Award. While a student, Dr. Jonathan Bridges belonged to the Outstanding College Students Society, as well as Beta Gamma Sigma, Inc., an honor society for business majors, and Alpha Epsilon Delta, Inc., a pre-medical honor society. Dr. Jonathan Bridges completed five years of service in the United States Army before pursuing a career in medicine. During his military days, Dr. Bridges was promoted from 2nd Lieutenant to Captain, a role in which he created a training program for 1,200 soldiers. Prior to attaining the rank of Captain, Dr. Bridges traveled to Yugoslavia to deploy a United Nations Peacekeeping Task Force. He received many honors during his tenure in the Army, including receiving a National Defense Service Medal, and Overseas Service Ribbon, an Army Achievement Award, and two Army Commendation Medals. After completing his premedical science requirements at the University of South Carolina, Dr. Jonathan Bridges enrolled at the Medical University of South Carolina. During his tenure at the school, he won the Rich Scholarship Award and the National Collegiate Natural Sciences Award. In addition, Dr. Bridges earned membership in the Alpha Omega Honor Medical Society, an organization that recognizes high achievement in academics and strives to encourage the development of leaders in the community. Dr. Jonathan Bridges subsequently completed his internship, residency, and fellowship at Harvard Medical School’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he won a Medical Housestaff Excellence Award and Teaching Excellence Award as well as a Harvard Teaching Award. Since 2008, Dr. Jonathan Bridges has served as an interventional cardiologist at Seacoast Cardiology Associates. Dr. Bridges holds board certification in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
