John Manno
John Manno has a long history of community service. In addition to an extensive and successful career as a business owner, he has dedicated much of his personal time serving as an active member of numerous nonprofit boards. Presently, John Manno fills the role of board member and is a past Chairman of the Northwest Louisiana Chapter of the American Red Cross in Shreveport, Louisiana. He has been an active board member and volunteer for two decades.
A graduate of Northwestern State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, John Manno earned recognition as a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and the “N” Club. He was also named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges. He maintains close ties with the university, having served on the Northwestern State University Foundation Board of Directors for twelve years. During that time, he co-chaired the group’s Capital Campaign with his wife. A recipient of the Dave Michels Spirit of Mardi Gras Award, John Manno sponsored the Krewe of Gemini from 1989 to 2011. The Krewe created a Mardi Gras celebration for the Shreveport-Bossier area. He also received the Dave Michels Captain’s Award for his spirited participation. John is also a member of the Loyola College Preparatory High School Hall of Honor.
Dedicated to the preservation of the historic Strand Theatre, John Manno served more than 20 years on the theatre’s board and assumed the role of President during 2011. Through his philanthropic work, he has also garnered the 2010 March of Dimes Citizen of the Year honor for his volunteer work with the Louisiana chapter.
Owner of JR Investments LLC and Manno Realty Investments LLC, John Manno manages real estate holdings of Southland Printing Company Inc. Since 1978, he has served as Vice President of Southland Printing with oversight of the information technology department. He has more than 30 years of business experience in the Gulf Coast area.
