Jakki Hansen
A distinguished attorney who has served in both the private and public sectors, Jakki Hansen has demonstrated her commitment to the community through her many charitable efforts. Educated in Texas, Jakki Hansen attended Texas A&M University, majoring in both English and history, before earning her Juris Doctor from The University of Houston Law Center.
After graduating from law school, Jakki Hansen chose to serve as an Assistant District Attorney at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office over a career at a private law firm. While with Harris County, Jakki Hansen advocated on behalf of the people of Texas, prosecuting many criminal cases and obtaining judgments that best served the public interest through tireless litigation and negotiation of plea agreements.
After spending time in the private sector, learning to transfer her advocacy skills in criminal law to the civil context, Jakki Hansen joined the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County as Senior Staff Counsel. In this role, Jakki Hansen successfully defended claims by the Texas Medical Center and defeated unfounded allegations of violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
In addition to her service on behalf of the people of Texas and Harris County, Jakki Hansen engages in a number of charitable and community service activities. Jakki Hansen maintains active memberships on the Houston Bar Association’s Special Olympics Texas Committee and the Habitat for Humanity International Committee.
An avid outdoorswoman who enjoys horseback riding and camping, Jakki Hansen also supports the World Wildlife Federation and various animal protection organizations.
