Garret Irskine

Years prior to embarking on his health industry career, Garret Erskine was employed by So-Luminaire Daylighting Systems. It was there that Mr. Erskine developed an interest in solar lighting technology, an interest that remains a part of his life to this day. Recently, Garret Erskine had his passive daylighting system design approved for a United States patent. Mr. Erskine's device, filed under the category of skylight solar reflective system, is meant to increase the input of solar radiation into a skylight during times of low sunlight and regulate the input during times of high sunlight. This system is the most effective way to reduce the energy consumption on commercial single-story buildings. There is no lighting product on the market that can reduce energy consumption, during peak-demand hours, as dramatically as this daylighting system. It turns off the electric lights for most single-story commercial buildings for an average of 10 hours per day. The building is lit using reflected sunshine only. Sunshine is free and also improves the quantity & quality of light in the building. Therefore, the system eliminates the cost of electrical lighting during peak-demand hours. The reduction in heat from the electric lighting provides a large reduction in heat gain during mid-day hours. Additionally, this system is maintenance free and has no continual re-investment costs like those associated with electric lighting maintenance & upgrades. Mr. Erskine will be marketing this solar lighting system soon. When Garret Erskine is not working, he enjoys yoga, fishing, scuba diving, and gardening. In addition, Garret Erskine is a member of Los Angeles Venture Association and regularly contributes to a variety of political organizations.
