Dr. Linda Gottwald
An Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Linda Gottwald, DNP, possesses years of experience in both the medical field and in the lifesaving care of homeless and abused animals. Dr. Gottwald currently works in nursing at Munson Medical Center, a regional referral center located in Traverse City, Michigan. Additionally, Dr. Linda Gottwald serves as a member of the adjunct faculty at Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City.
Advancing her education beyond the Registered Nurse level, Linda Gottwald completed a Doctor of Nursing Practice. Obtaining her DNP places Dr. Gottwald at the most advanced level of education in her field. She also attended Chicago’s Rush University College of Nursing, where she received The Albert Schweitzer Fellowship.
Dr. Linda Gottwald maintains a passion for providing for animals in need. For several years, she served as Executive Director for a nonprofit animal shelter, for which she raised a quarter of a million dollars for an endowment. Today, she continues to serve in this fashion as Executive Director of Pine Cone Farm, a rescue shelter in Traverse City. The shelter provides adoption services, including health care and spay/neuter coordination, and Dr. Gottwald places pet profiles in area publications to promote adoptions.
Based on her volunteer work for The Anti-Cruelty Society in Chicago, a nonprofit organization that provides shelter and medical care for abused animals, Dr. Linda Gottwald was recognized with a community service award. A former teacher in Alameda, California, she earned a Master of Journalism from the University of California, Berkeley, and has authored numerous articles in a variety of major publications as a freelance journalist.
