Domenic Gatto
Serving as President and Chief Executive Officer of Atlantic Express Transportation Corp., Domenic Gatto is instrumental in managing one of the nation’s largest school bus companies. Domenic Gatto oversees all daily operations of the company, while continuing to maintain active business development. With nearly 11,000 employs in several states, Atlantic Express Transportation Corp. operates a vast fleet of school buses, passenger wagons and sedans, wheelchair vans, and luxury coaches. Domenic Gatto founded Atlantic Express Transportation Corp. in 1972 as a school bus business with no more than 16 routes. The substantial growth that Domenic Gatto’s company has seen over the years is due to a high commitment to impeccable quality and service. He sold the company in 1998, but has remained a central leadership figure. Domenic Gatto is a war veteran of the U.S. Army, honorably discharged after a wound received in the line of duty. Since achieving extensive success with his school bus company, Domenic Gatto has become increasingly active as a philanthropist. Along with offering generous scholarships to special education students who ride his school buses, Domenic Gatto contributes to many charitable causes, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Emergency Children’s Help Organization, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Notably, Domenic Gatto is a repeat recipient of the Gold Sponsor Award as a significant donor to the Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide, Inc. Highly active both professionally and in his community, Domenic Gatto is the major shareholder and Chairman of the Eagle Oaks Golf & Country Club . Domenic Gatto continues to pursue numerous interests from his home in Staten Island, New York.
